Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Bullets And Baseball (Asps Series) - Asps, SAS, and MI6 in big battle with terrorists, pulling back to let Bear end it with a blast.

Today’s excerpt is from Bullets And Baseball, Book #6 of the nine-book Asps series.  Asps, SAS, and MI6 ready to pull back from major battle with terrorists because Bear is ready to set off large explosion.  Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
m.j.

While all that had been going on, Tony and his SAS men weren’t sitting idly by.  As soon as the all clear had been given after the last round of claymores were set off, those in Tony’s group had opened up.  Initially, the terrorists weren’t sure where all the fire was coming from.  In time, some realized where Bruce and his group were, and—depending on their proximity to the various sites on the almost circular mound where Tony’s group was hidden—some terrorists started firing in the general direction of members of his group…without much success, since they really never knew for sure just where the shots from Tony’s group were coming from.  Tony and his SAS friends were well dug in and well camouflaged.
In time, one of the SAS troops was grazed on the outside of his neck, fortunately gouging out only meat from his neck muscle.  As he took out bandaging material and started to wrap it around his neck, the whiteness of the material was easily spotted and several shots came his way, one grazing the back on his hand.  He grumbled, “Bloody hell,” and burrowed deeper into his hidey-hole.
The situation could have become worse, but just then, one of the buggies came flying by and either killed or scattered those who had seen the white material.  By the time the next buggy was approaching, the man and his bandaging material were forgotten.
The next pass of the buggies further drove the terrorists away from any place near that side of the man’s hideout, even though by then he was back in action and firing away.
That pass was made with Bruce manning one of the machine guns, but just as it drove by that particular spot, Bruce grumbled, “Son-of-a-bitch.  I’m totally out of ammo for this thing,” as he took out his Asp and did what damage he could.
Back at the location of the main force of Asps and SAS troops, Oscar suggested, “Bruce, I’m thinking it’s time to get Tony and his chaps out of there and pull back.  We’re getting torn up…even though we’ve sure as hell hit these bastards hard.”
Bruce joked, “Right on,” which drew a few chuckles, even as Bruce added, “Okay, buggy drivers, circle our wagons around Tony’s island.  Tony, you and your guys jump in whatever buggy you can.  We’re not coming to any full stops, just slowing down so you can jump in.”
Tony and his SAS team didn’t have to be told twice.  In less than a minute, all were in one buggy or the other, and the buggies were speeding toward where Oscar and the others were.
Seeing that, Oscar said, “Bear, we’re pulling back.  Will give you an idea of where in due time.”
Bear replied, “Right on.  We’ll set the charges in the ammo dump and head your way.  Two of your men should be getting to you soon.”
The SAS troop, told by Bear to help his wounded friend, spoke up, “We’re here…and damned sure ready to pull back.  We both took another hit getting here.  Bloody guys are popping up everywhere.”
As the buggies slowed near where Oscar stood, firing away as he had been speaking, he glanced at Sergeant Major Squires.  “Sergeant Major, I assume you have one of our lorries.  If so, where is it?  We’ll pull back in that direction.”

Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Bear's War (Asps Series) - Asps and MI6 deal blow to Iran and al-Qaida.

Today’s excerpt is from Bear’s War, Book #5 of the nine-book Asps series.  Asps and MI6 foil Iran’s plan to give arms to al-Qaida plot in Europe…then hurry to get out of Switzerland where the Iranian Ambassador’s villa was located.  Enjoy and have a great day.

m.j.

By the time Dusty was fully into the laptop and transferring everything on it to Bruce’s laptop, then on to the main computer in Montana, Bruce had told everyone to head back to their vehicles, and the Iranians were slowly headed back toward the main house and barn.  Bear saw one of the men holler something to two men near the barn.  He could also hear sirens in the distance.  When he saw the two men head into the barn in haste, he whispered, “Roy.”

Dusty knew Bear seldom used his first name, rather than his nickname, and knew Bear only did so to get his attention and stress the fact that a problem was at hand.  As the computer continued to dump into Bruce’s laptop, Dusty would have preferred to wait, but the program he was running would shut the laptop down when the program was completed.  He decided that even though someone might spot the laptop open—rather than shut, as he’d found it—he knew Bear was serious, so he nodded and followed Bear out of the main house and across the opening between it and the barn.  Bear was running full tilt, so Dusty followed at the same pace.  The Iranian Ambassador saw them, but didn’t realize they were intruders, thinking instead that they were men of his.

Past the barn and on the far incline, Bear was running as fast as he could.  Dusty didn’t question him, just followed as fast as he could go, gaining slightly on Bear.  As they neared the tree line, the Ambassador entered his study, noticed the laptop open, and suddenly realized the two men he’d seen hurrying along might have come from the study.   It was the last thought he’d ever have.

As Bear reached the tree line, the ground under his feet shook and a deafening explosion threw him forward to the ground.  The same thing happened to Dusty as the explosives in the barn erupted, due to the men the Ambassador had sent into the barn to make sure everything there was well hidden by the time the police arrived—having moved the wrong item and triggered Bear’s booby trap.  The barn disintegrated, the building behind it was leveled, the next building in line was all but leveled, and the third of the berthing buildings was ruined.  The main house was three-fourths blown apart, with only a far outside wall and a third of the front wall still standing.  None of the Iranians were alive.  Bear and Dusty were only partially alive.  Neither man could hear, and every muscle in their bodies ached as they both tried to crawl forward toward the spot where the others waited.  The rest of the team wasn’t as bad off, but all their ears ached and they all had instant headaches, so vicious had the explosion been.  When Bruce saw Bear and Dusty crawling toward him and the others, he hurried forward, followed by Anson and Billy.  Those three quickly had help getting Bear and Dusty to the Land Rovers.  After those two were helped into the rear of one of the Land Rovers, Jack got in with them, to see what he could do for them.  Both men were bleeding from the nose, and neither could hear a thing.  Dusty tried to speak and found he couldn’t, so he gave up.  Kye, meanwhile, jumped in, backed the Land Rover down to the road, and followed Bruce, who was driving another of the vehicles.  Anson drove the third Land Rover, as all three started down the road toward a main road they hoped to reach before the police arrived.

When Bruce saw a police car approaching, he stopped and got out.  He looked back up the hill and pointed at the inferno as everything up at the compound was now ablaze.  The first police car to reach them hollered at Bruce to get back in his vehicle and go on about his business.  Bruce nodded, and smiled as he drove away.  Tommy, who was sitting in the front seat next to Bruce, smiled.  “Very nicely done.  A nosey bystander told to go on his way.  Very nicely done indeed.”

When they came to a roadblock, Bruce put his window down and told the policemen he and his friends in the next two Land Rovers had been told to get out of the area by another policeman.  He was signaled on.  Tommy sighed.  “That was almost too easy.”

Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Tears And Terrorists (Other Books) - Team takes down terrorist camp, but it's too wet for their C-130 to land to pick them up.

Today’s excerpt is from Tears And Terrorists, Book #4 of the nine-book Asps series.  After taking out an al-Qaida camp in Angola, the Asps and friends try to find a place for Wendy to land to pick them up.  Enjoy and have a fantastic day.

m.j.

Later, with the team gathered around their vehicles, Bruce grumbled, “Guess all we have to do now is find a place for Wendy to land.”

Dusty nodded.  “When going over the satellite photos of the area, I noticed some sort of runway about fifty miles more or less southeast of here.  Had a few buildings nearby, but none of the photos showed anyone in sight.  Want to try for that?”

Harry asked, “You think you can find it from here?”

Bear joked, “Dusty has a GPS system imbedded in his head.  He can find it.”

Dusty laughed, “Yeah, I think I can find it.”

Jim nodded, “Lead the way then.  Let’s load up, folks.”

When everyone was loaded up in the vehicles, Dusty led the way, driving one of the buggies.  The going was anything but smooth, as they came to several places which were too soggy to drive through, and had to drive around the dangerous spots to avoid getting one or more of the vehicles stuck in the mud.  It took nearly three hours to make the fifty-plus miles.  When they did come to what Dusty had seen on the photos, they pulled to a stop and looked around, without seeing any signs of life.  What they saw was obviously an abandoned facility of some type.  As they drove forward, they reached a small overgrown airstrip.  Dusty pulled up alongside it, stopped, and shrugged.  “Looks like we’ve got a place for Wendy to land…if it’s long enough.  Probably wouldn’t hurt to clear some of those tall weeds off, if we can.”

Bruce grumbled, “Yeah.  Everyone get their hoes out.”

Tony joked, “If it would stop raining for five minutes, we could burn the weeds off.  Otherwise, I suggest we all put our mittens on and commence pulling.”

Dusty pulled his buggy up onto the weed-covered airstrip and drove to the end nearest where the others were parked, then drove to the other end.  When he got there, he was satisfied with the distance.  “Okay, it’s long enough…and wide enough.  Even with the rain, Wendy should be able to land…weeds or no weeds.  But we better check it over carefully and make sure there are no crater-sized potholes.”

Jim, who was driving one of the buggies, and Harry, who was driving the third one, pulled up onto the runway, drove to the end where Dusty had started, and begun slowly driving toward the far end, each about five feet from the edge of the runway they were on.  Dusty saw that and started driving slowly down the middle.  For over thirty minutes, they all drove back and forth, looking for any possible problems.  While they did, each of the drivers with at least two other people in the buggies, the rest of the team reluctantly started pulling weeds.  With the rain, the large weeds came out more easily than many thought they would.  By the time Dusty, Jim, and Harry parked their buggies near the two SAS vehicles, about fifty feet of the runway had more or less been cleared of weeds.  When those in the three buggies got out and started helping, the weed pulling went much quicker.  When they were about half done, Jim stopped, and called Wendy.  “Your new international airport of Angola awaits you, Red.  GPS will be set up for you shortly.  By the way, just for your information, we’re about fifty miles southeast of where you raised so much beautiful hell earlier…thanks again for that.  For now, just head back the way you’ve been fifteen or twenty times already.  Tell Goose I said even he shouldn’t get lost, as many times as you’ve made the trip…one way or the other. ”

Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Fido (Asps Series) - Asps bug terrorist car and deal with un unexpected problem.

Today’s excerpt is from Fido, Book #3 of the nine-book Asps series.  Asps bug and put homing device on terrorist’s car…then have some unwanted excitement.  Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

m.j.

When Dusty reached the side of the house, he took a deep breath and worked his way forward, to the corner where the side of the house and the front met.  He had already guessed the distance to the car from there to be about fifty feet.  Staying close to the house, he moved forward, until he was even with the car, now only about ten feet away.  Knowing light was hard to see through, he was glad the inside lights were on in the windows nearest the car.  His happy thought in mind, he hurried to the car and around it.  He dropped down, crawled under it, and attached a homing device sending unit, in a place not easily spotted.  He got back out from under the car, got up to a kneeling position, and looked into the car.  He saw two things at once.  It had an alarm system, but was unlocked and the alarm system seemed not to be on.  He thought, “Mess this up now, and you’ll be the joke of the team,” then slowly opened the door…no alarm sounded.  He quickly reached inside and put a bug under the front seat.  He very slowly shut the door.  It didn’t latch, but he leaned his shoulder hard into in and the latch clicked.  When it did, he hurried back to the side of the house and retraced his path, back to where Bear waited, rifle now in hand, as Sarah had arrived.  Kye was also back and told Dusty the garage was empty.   Dusty just grunted.  “These idiots should use it…would have made my job easier.”

·

By then, the homing device had started emitting its signal, and Ike saw it on the panel he had been looking at while Harry stood outside the SUV.  “We got a signal, Harry.”

Harry got in, and started the engine.  “Give Bruce a call, and tell him to meet us at the vacant building.”

·

About the same time, Dusty tilted his head, “We may as well head on back.”

Bear whispered, “Not right now.  Don’t move, Sarah.”

Sarah was kneeling down on her good knee, next to a tree.  Kye and Dusty were standing, and Bear had been kneeling about ten feet away from Sarah.  Even as he spoke, he took out his long knife and threw it.  The knife thudded against the tree next to Sarah and fell to the ground…along with the head and about six inches of the snake that had been coming down the tree toward Sarah.  Sarah turned, saw the snake’s head, and moved a bit, just as the rest of it fell out of the tree, at her feet.  She threw up.  She wiped her mouth, and muttered, “God, I hate snakes!”

Bear walked over and kissed her, then stood back and handed her his canteen.  “You might want to wash out your mouth.”

“Taste like puke, do I?”

“Yeah.”

Sarah washed out her mouth, handed Bear his canteen back, took about three steps, stopped, drew her Asp…and fired several silent shots into another snake.  It seemed to jump a bit each time she fired.  Finally, Bear touched her shoulder.  “It’s dead.  You can stop shooting anytime now.”

Sarah giggled, “I told you I hate snakes.”

Latst from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - The Zimo Hunt (Asps Series) - Drew and Boris qustion al-Qaida prisoner...at Jim's ranch.

Today’s excerpt is from The Zimo Hunt, Book #2 of the nine-book Asps series.  Drew and Boris prepare to question an al-Qaida prisoner on Jim’s ranch.  Enjoy and have a great day.

m.j.

Jim, Drew, and Boris all shook their heads at the same time, but said nothing.  Jim looked at the other two and asked, “Where do you want him?”

Drew answered, “Oh, the barn ought to do…naked, spread-eagled to the corners of a stall.  How cold is it in the barn this time of year, Jim?”

“Chilly, but not cold.  Don’t want my horses to get sick…keep it above sixty.”

Boris nodded and looked at Dusty, “Do you feel like getting him ready for us.  We’ve already gone over the information Tony found on his laptop, but the rest of you might be interested.”

Dusty nodded and looked at Bear, who nodded, also.  Those two took the prisoner to Jim’s barn, stripped him, and tied him up in the rear of one of the empty stalls in Jim’s barn, leaving the hood on his head all the while.  When they were finished, Bear glanced at Dusty.  “You go on back and I’ll stay with him, until Drew and Boris arrive.”

Boris, who had just walked into the barn with Drew, mumbled, “We have arrived.  You two may as well go back and enjoy the warmth.”

·

Two and a half hours later, Drew and Boris returned to the conference room.  Drew smiled.  “Tony, first off, we’d like to thank you for not doubting our interrogation of Baroom.  While he gave us bad information, he didn’t know he was doing so.  Next off, just to be sure you still have total confidence in us, we left that fella alive.  Up to you what to do with him.”

Tony grinned.  “Never had a doubt in the world about you and Boris, Drew,” then he glanced at Harry and added, “I would appreciate it if you would dispose of that fine fellow, old chap.”

Harry sighed.  “Dusty, Ike, take care of it, please.  Guess you’ll have to use Jim’s SUV to get to the mineshaft.”

Ike nodded, “We’ll take care of it.”

Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Birth Of The Asps (Asps Series) - Dusty and Kye have a bit of fun, then get serious.

Today’s excerpt is from Birth Of The Asps, the first book of the nine-book Asps series.  After faking a love making scene, Kye shows her versatility.  Enjoy and have a fantastic day.
m.j.

Since the rest of the team had to walk some distance to the tire tracks, Dusty at that time was pulling the truck to a stop, where he had parked his car on two previous occasions.  The windows were down and he raised the speaker of his headset and did the same for Kye.  He leaned over and whispered, “Make sounds like you’re getting turned on with love making.  After a bit, you might fake an orgasm.”
Kye whispered back, “What makes you think I know how to do that?”
“All women do.”
“Ha!”
Knowing the subject would be revisited at a later time, Kye nonetheless soon started moaning and groaning, helped along by fantasizing something she knew she should feel guilty about fantasizing, but didn’t.  She added a bit of jarring to her performance by bouncing up and down in her seat.
Meanwhile, Dusty scanned the area with his night vision gear.  After about three minutes of Kye’s act, he reached over and touched her.  He whispered, “Okay, I don’t see anyone around.  You can stop.”
“I was just getting into it.”
“Yeah, yeah—come on, Whatawaste.”
Kye smiled, got out her side of the truck, and walked around the front.  By that time Dusty, Asp drawn, was already starting down the path that led to the pool and small waterfall.  Kye followed along.
When he reached where he had left the path before, he moved into the dense rain forest and worked his way to the path that led to the incline.  When he reached it, he stopped and motioned for Kye to go up first.  As she neared the top of it, she saw two men, raised her Asp, and shot both from about ten feet away.

Latest from the Janitors, Asps, and Other Books - Monster's Palace (Other Books) - Jo tricks the thugs after her.

Today’s excerpt is from latest release…Monster’s Palace.  Jo outwits two thugs.  Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

m.j.

As soon as Tino and Basil realized Jo had left, they were not too concerned.  They planned to find her car, using the GPS device.  Their plan would have worked except, as she drove away, Jo started wondering how they had managed to find her so soon after her arrival at Clyde’s home.  Jo was far from a modern device twit, so in time figured out they must have some sort of device on her car.

She stopped, looked under her car, spotted the device, pulled it free, and drove off.  Reaching her store, there was a newspaper delivery van parked nearby.  The driver was placing the Sunday paper in a vending machine.  Jo took the device and walked up to the van.  She reached under it and attached the GPS “gadget” (as she thought of it) under the van.

It took Tino and Basil two hours to track down the often-turning delivery van.  It had stopped in front of them.  Still not knowing the van was the target, when they saw the blinking light on their indicator stop, they pulled in behind it—thinking Jo must have pulled to a stop in front of the van.

Tino had Basil get out of the passenger seat to go take a look.  He returned to their car.  “I don’t see her car anywhere.”

Tino had a bewildered look as he pondered what he’d been told.  Just as he was about to open his mouth to speak, the van pulled out.  When the indicator again showed movement, Basil asked, “Do you think…?”

“I think Miss Kelly is much smarter than we gave her credit for.”

They followed the delivery van until it stopped again.  Rather than worry about retrieving their homing device, Tino drove off.  As he did, he glanced over at Basil.  “I fear we have an unfortunate phone call to make.”

“No, you have an unfortunate phone call to make.”
