Latest from the Janitors, Asps, Other Books, and More Books - Birth Of The Asps (Asps Series, Book #1) - Dusty has a problem.

Today’s excerpt is from Birth Of The Asps, Book #1 of the nine-book Asps Series.  Near the site of the al-Qaida camp, Dusty runs into a problem…actually five problems. Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

When he came back to the original trail he’d used to get to the campsite, he headed toward his car.  Thanks to his night vision gear, he saw the two terrorists near the top of the incline before they saw him.  He froze and thought for a few seconds before deciding that two accidents in one day would stretch believability, so he eased deep into the foliage and decided to wait the two terrorists out.

After about twenty minutes, he thought, “Well, this isn’t good.  They maybe didn’t totally buy the accident theory and are guarding the path.”

The next thought he had caused him to be concerned about his car, wondering if some of the terrorists were heading that way.  Not prone to inaction, Dusty returned to the path and shot the two men guarding it.  Not wanting to make too much of a mess—by shooting the two men in the head and having the bullet explode the back of their heads—he shot one facing away from him in the back, heart high, and the other one in the chest.

After firing, he holstered the Asp and rushed forward to the two bodies.  He picked up one under each arm and slowly started heading for his car.  When he was about a quarter of a mile from it, he put the two bodies down and went forward to where he had left his bag.  It was still there, so he slowly went forward.

This time, one of the two men he came upon caught a glimpse of him and raised a gun to fire.  Dusty shot him in the base of the throat, then shot the other man in the chest.  After checking to make sure both men were dead, he went on to near the opening of the path unto the road.  There he stopped and carefully looked things over.  His car seemed undisturbed, with no one near it.  Not satisfied, he carefully looked all around, until he spotted another man.  This one was on the other side of the road, well-concealed…but not well enough.  Dusty shot him in the forehead, blowing the back of his head away.

Dusty sighed, then carefully checked his surroundings to make sure he was now the only living being nearby.  Satisfied he had eliminated the enemy, he walked across the road to make sure the terrorist was dead.  Finding he was and noticing his gun was still holstered, Dusty gathered him up and carried him to his car.  He sat the body upright in the front seat and went after the bodies of the third and fourth of his victims.  After picking up their guns, he carried both of them to the car and sat them upright in the rear seats.  Then he retrieved his belongings and carried them to the car, before going after the last two bodies, which he put in the trunk.

Standing alongside the car, he thought for a moment, shrugged his shoulders, and started changing back into his “vacation suit,” as he thought of the civilian clothing.  Then he got in and drove off.  Being a well-trained and very experienced SEAL, he had thoroughly checked out his surroundings as he had driven around the island.  He knew exactly where to go to dump the bodies.

He found the deep, lush ravine he sought.  He stopped, systematically tossed all five bodies and the two loose guns down the ravine, and drove off.
